Called the “lady of the night” in Latin America for its exquisite evening perfume. Brassavola nodosa‘s 3-inch flowers may be white with tiny purple dots on the lip, greenish-white, or cream. The foliage is upright and varies in height from a compact 4 inches to 12 inches. Unlike Brassavola digbyana, Brassavola nodosa does not need a dry rest period, it usually grows and flowers year round. It is native from Mexico through Central America to Peru and Venezuela; also found in the West Indies.
